It was a total mob scene. We expected a lot of people, but damn. While Allicia was in the mile-long to get in I walked ten blocks to yank Zora out of preschool and take her with us. I actually got a little choked up being there, I have to say. I couldn't help scanning the crowd and wondering if today was the day he'd be assassinated. I'm praying it's not inevitable.
Awesome! I've missed all the Obama rallies around here because I didn't think the kids could handle the lines. Zora is lucky to have been there. I don't know if he'll be back to VA or not. It's kind of like when Homer was going to see Mr. T at the mall. He kept putting it off and when he got there Mr. T was gone. He asked the lady at the mall if Mr. t would come back again, and she said, " I don't know."
ReplyDeleteIt all worked out perfectly. We would have had to leave if Zora's preschool wasn't within walking distance. The line was almost two miles long. It snaked up and down streets in the downtown. It was insane. But when they started letting people in it was a stampede. Allicia held the place in line while I fetched Zora so there wasn't much waiting in line, but there was a lot of walking to find Allicia.
