K.B, I did a little research and most of the regulars on that stretch of water recommend putting in upstream of Hemlock at the rte. 28 bridge north of Manassas Park. There's an actual launch point there accessible by car. No carrying a 15 foot canoe a half mile through the woods. If the water is low we may have to portage in a few places, but from what I've read you get a very scenic ride through the whole of Hemlock with opportunities for island exploring and other delights. I'm really looking forward to this trip!
I'm telling you, Tom, it's going to be great! And putting in upstream sounds like a good idea, just wear old tennis shoes is all. We should definitely make a day of it!
ReplyDeleteI'll wear my faery sandals. It'll be a good way to get the dog crap off of them. That's why they've been on my porch all week.
ReplyDeletehmmmm. Have you ever googled "faery sandals"?
ReplyDeleteWhen can you come down and do this, Kevin?
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking the same thing. Pick a weekend and I'll block it off. Only next weekend I'm helping someone move on June 1st
