Dagnabbit I want details - what were you using, dead shrimp on a single hook with a two-ounce sinker two feet up the line, is my guess. Casting beyond the breakers or was it caught right up near the shoreline? Early in the am or in the afternoon at the turn of the tide?
2 hooks, mullet head, 2oz sinker, juuuuuuust past the breakers, at about late morning (like 11:30). Around 12:30 there was a whole school of something thrashing about around the same area but those buggars never bit! Steve Sr. caught an undersized flounder with mullet about 20 mins before I caught mine. Steve Jr. caught a decent sized skate about 15 minutes after I caught this guy and then it went dead for the 3 of us.
Wowo good job, dude. That's my favorite fish. Catch it in the ocean or in the bay?
ReplyDeleteI caught it in the ocean from the shore. He was about 18 inches. Good eatin'!
