  1. Adam -

Been revisiting your musical influence circa '95 or so for reasons too long to go into. Recent songs . . .

    We Walk - REM
    Candy and Thursday - Morphine
The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot (this one with a little Tom thrown in).

    Missin' y'all.

  2. We walk was Tom circa 92. I loved that song when you were sucking at your mamma's teat!

And man, I haven't thought about or heard "Thursday" in a LONG time. What a great song!

  3. Sorry there, Tom. Should give credit where it's due. Just remembered rediscovering it in Richmond, at a time when Adam was really taken up with the tune.

That song is as good as prozac, i imagine, for the morning blues. Always puts a smile on my face (and most of us know how eagerly i greet the dawn).

The whole Cure for Pain album is nearly perfect . . . I didn't think so back then, but it's a great listen now.

  4. Just kidding, dude. But really I had Walkman evenings at the South Run rec center while Rich Dodson was having his swim meets and I'd sit there in the lounge scribbling odes to Asia while thinking about "Marat Bathing", this in my last days of being 15 and full of all sorts of manically depressed hope of liberation via Buick in a month or so, and never realizing that I would soon be flying off the road into brush to rescue the frogs of Clifton after meeting some girl with buck teeth in her carport as a favor to your mom.
